Do you have swollen, bulging veins? Itching or heaviness in the legs? Swelling in the legs or ankles? You could have a venous disorder.
Venous—or vein—disorders include varicose veins, which affect approximately one-third of Americans. Varicose veins are often the result of “venous reflux,” a condition in which blood travels backwards through the vein, causing the vein walls to enlarge. This can lead to a variety of health problems, including pain, swelling, skin changes and infections, and blood clots.
Fortunately, Central Oregon Radiology offers comprehensive vein care using minimally invasive, state-of-the-art treatment.
Advanced comprehensive vein care by the region’s experts.
Our Vascular and Interventional Radiology team performs a variety of innovative procedures for the treatment of venous disorders. These leading-edge treatments offer less risk, pain and shorter recovery time than traditional surgery, while delivering high success rates. Often, you are back on your feet the same day.
Our highly trained physicians create customized treatment plans based on your unique needs. These treatments may include:
- Sclerotherapy: During this treatment, used often for cosmetic purposes, an interventional radiologist uses a fine needle to inject vein-dissolving solution into varicose and spider veins.
- Endovenous Laser Treatment (EVLT): Instead of using a solution to dissolve the vein, EVLT uses medical lasers to deliver light energy, eliminating only the damaged tissue and leaving surrounding tissue untouched.
- Ambulatory Phebectomy: During this treatment, varicose veins are removed through small incisions in the skin. Afterwards, the legs are wrapped in compression bandages to reduce swelling and inflammation.
