Our center provides the most comprehensive breast imaging care available in Central and Eastern Oregon. We have dedicated fellowship trained physicians that are specialized in women’s imaging and breast cancer screening.

Our full range of breast imaging services includes 3D digital mammography, also known as tomosynthesis, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, image-guided breast biopsies (including MRI-guided biopsy), and needle localization procedures. Our advanced 3D imaging technology allow us to detect up to 40% more invasive breast cancers compared with older techniques. CORA and CMI are proud to have received the highest level of accreditation by the American College of Radiology of “Breast Imaging Center of Excellence”. As a group that brings state-of-the-art imaging to Central and Eastern Oregon, we take pride in providing our communities with comprehensive and compassionate care. We also proudly helped initiate and develop the High-Risk Breast Clinic in Central Oregon, a multicenter and multidisciplinary initiative providing education and guidance to women in our community about their individual risk. Those women at higher risk benefit from more specialized care and risk reduction strategies. You can learn about your risk when you come in for your breast imaging at any of our locations.

About Mammography

Our team at CORA recommends following both the American College of Radiology guidelines of beginning screening mammography at the age of 40 and getting screened yearly. This service pattern saves the most lives, according to the most rigorous scientific studies evaluating breast cancer screening. There are two different types of mammogram appointments. A screening mammogram is a quick annual screening appointment you should have if you do not have any new symptoms. If you do have new symptoms that have developed within the last year, you should contact your doctor, who can send us an order for diagnostic imaging. You will be scheduled an appointment with one of our specialized Women’s Imaging doctors, who will tailor imaging needs for each individual patient, often using diagnostic mammography and ultrasound. You will be given your results at the end of your appointment and we will send your referring provider a copy as well.

Do not wear deodorant, lotion, or talcum powder under your arms or on your breasts on the day of the exam. These can appear on your mammogram as calcium spots.

Describe any breast symptoms to the technologist performing your screening.

Obtain any prior mammograms done at a different facility and have them available to the radiologist. Doing so helps your doctor at CORA compare your previous and current results.
